2020 Schools engage with Asia DVD
The DVD includes contributions from leading Australians who discuss both the rationale and imperative for study about Asia in Australian schools, as well as from school principals, teachers and students who describe how best practice engagement with Asia occurs in schools. The material on the DVD can be utilised in schools in a number of ways: as a professional learning tool, to engage parents and broader community in Asia engagement, and with students across curriculum areas.

Toolkit Modules (PDF: 6 MB)
The Tool Kit Modules are a set of professional learning activities, which assist schools to incorporate studies of Asia within curriculum. They can be used consecutively or individually depending on the school’s current level of Asia engagement. They move sequentially and focus on; developing the rationale for studies of Asia; determining school readiness; defining a school vision; and developing and implementing a school program for engaging students with Asia.

The audit templates included in the Tool Kit Modules, enable principals to investigate where studies of Asia is or is not already included in the curriculum, assess teacher knowledge and experience, review Asia-related library resources and identify community resources available to enrich and support the endeavour.

Each Module provides easy to use professional learning activities. They are supported by handouts and PowerPoint slides with accompanying presenter's notes. Be sure to click onto Notes View page to access presenter notes to support your presentations

The three activities are designed to engage principals with Asia by introducing them to the National Statement, school audit tools and the suite of AEF curriculum resources, especially the Asia Scope and Sequence documents.

Asia Scope and Sequence curriculum for English, SOSE and The Arts documents (PDF format)

Access Asia Study Tours and Exchanges include 2 to 3 week study tour programs in Asia and teacher exchange programs for Indian, Korean and Indonesian educators.

Endeavour Language Teacher Fellowships, funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training, provides Australian language teachers with intensive language and culture programs.

 

The AEF suite of high quality curriculum resources and professional learning programs for primary and secondary teachers and students.
