STUDENT WORKSHEET
Introduction
A number of solutions to Bangkok's traffic situation are being attempted.
Several of these are described on the Internet. In this activity
you will analyse one of the solutions.
Tasks
- Form groups of five and look up the websites listed below. Each person
is to report on one of the solutions described. Each person
will be responsible for providing information on their
solution to the whole group, so that
by the end of the process all students have detailed information
on all the solutions. This information
could then be summarised in a
chart format.
- Using the information provided on the website you have selected, answer the following questions:
- What is the solution?
- What part of the traffic problem is your solution addressing?
- How will it work?
- In what way will your solution improve the situation?
- Are there any disadvantages or weaknesses to this solution? Explain them.
- Report back to the other members of your group, providing detailed information
about the solution you focused on. Listen carefully and take notes while
the other group members give their reports.
- Visit the following website
http://203.144.180.230/Internet/agenda/data/varaEnglish/8_agenda4.htm
to see how a traffic management program needs to consider a wide
range of integrated solutions in order to succeed.
