And isn't the curriculum overcrowded already?

Studies of Asia complement and add new layers of depth to material that is already being taught in Australian classrooms. Students may discover more, for example, about ancient China, or Austalia's involvement in the Vietnam War, or politics in Indonesia, or environmental issues in the Asia-Pacific, or haiku poetry, or the Islamic, Hindu or Buddhist religions, or the films and folktales of India ...

It is not a separate subject or learning area, so the curriculum gets no more overloaded than it is now.
