Leading schools are Asia literate
Many principals and school leaders are actively engaged in leading the development of Asia literate curriculum to maximize students’ work and life opportunities in a world where the countries and peoples of Asia play a central role.
The cross-curriculum priority of Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia in the Australian Curriculum is providing impetus for more schools to start an Asia focussed change process with their school communities. We offer a range of programs and resources to support Asia literate school change.
Dr Justin Garrick, Principal of Canberra Grammar School, outlined his vision to his school assembly by stating,
‘…if you are to thrive as the leaders of your generation in the century that you will inherit in this region of the world, then we, as a School, have an absolute obligation to provide you with an education that lifts your mind well and truly beyond the domestic horizon towards full and positive engagement internationally with the languages, the history and politics, the geography and economics of the world on our doorstep.’ Read his Canberra Grammar School assembly address.
