Andrew Blair

Andrew Blair picAndrew Blair was elected as President of ASPA in 2005 after being a member of the Executive for 5 years. At a state level, he was President of the Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals (VASSP). He concluded that role at the end of 2006 after a term of four years.

Andrew is also active at the international level, being re-elected to the International Confederation of Principals Executive for a second term beginning in 2007.

While on the ASPA executive, Andrew has provided leadership in the area of Languages, the Arts, School Leader Autonomy research and Boys Education. Since his election as President, Andrew has established close and cooperative working relationships with the other Principals' Professional Association leaders in order to pursue areas of common interest.

His career as a teacher and leader includes working for over thirty years both in country and metropolitan Victoria with his most recent principal's role being at Mt Eliza Secondary College. Andrew is a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators (ACE) and the immediate past President of the Victorian Branch of ACE. Andrew holds a variety of Board positions including on the Asia Education Foundation, The Education Foundation and the Teaching Australia Board.
