'Malaysia Unplugged' study tour

malaysiaDates:  7 to 19 April 2012

Visit Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Sarawak on this 11-day tour. Meet with local experts, NGOs and leaders in education to learn about sustainable development in the region and education priorities for the future.  Come away with greater insight into Malaysian culture and history, and with new connections with schools on the peninsula.  An experienced group leader will accompany the tour.

Study tour land costs:  From $2,750 per person twin share. 

Airfares costs: Indicative airfares of $1,600 per person are available through AEF's Licensed Travel Providers.

Limited number of $1,300 subsidies are available nationally, to support participation in the tour.

National subsidies will be offered to participants selected into the Understanding Modern Malaysia: Professional Learning for Australian School Leaders and Teachers Program supported by the Australia - Malaysia Institute (AMI) part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  The Program is managed by the AEF.   See what our previous tour participants said about their time in Malaysia

Tour closed: India study tour for school leaders

Dates: 4 to 20 January 2012

Focused around Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, this program gives Australian school leaders a chance to experience northern India and gain new insights into India today as the world’s largest democracy. Offering opportunities to spend time with Indian school leader colleagues in their schools and homes, you will gain a comprehensive insight into India’s education system and how its school leaders are responding to the new economic pressures of a globalised world.

2012 Australia India School Leaders Exchange program

Under this program Australian participants each receive a subsidy to participate in the AEF’s study tour to India for school leaders in January 2012.  The  Australia-India School Leaders Exchange program receives support from the Australia-India Council, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and Australian Education International, New Delhi.  It builds on previous AEF school leader and teacher exchanges with India.  Applications for the program are now closed

Our study tour combines authentic classroom experiences in Chinese schools with visits to some of the nationʼs most iconic monuments, including the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden Palace and the Summer Palace.

AEF Study Tours

AEF Study Tours  provide professional learning programs for school leaders and educators which engage them with Asia, provide intercultural learning, and facilitate links for school partnership development. Tour participants visit culturally significant sites, hear from education experts about education systems and reforms, and meet with local people to learn about key issues to gain first-hand, contemporary perspectives. AEF Study Tours are led by experienced and knowledgeable group leaders with significant in-country experience.
