Voices and Visions from Indonesia CD-ROM

Read a short story by one of Indonesia’s best known writers Putu Wijaya, glimpse urban Jakarta through the eyes of young people in film clips from Kuldesak, view a satirical performance and access art work and resources from popular culture from Indonesia. This award-winning CD-ROM contains extensive contextual information and teaching and learning activities for students in senior English classes. Users can search around theme: eg Childhood, Islam, Colonialism, Friendship, or search for materials which support a learning area. This special resource provides teachers with resources that would normally only be accessible to an Indonesian audience and makes materials engaging and relevant to an Australian classroom.

Distribution: This CD-ROM was distributed to all Australian secondary schools in 2001.

Technical note: The CD-ROM will operate using the Adobe Shockwave application on a PC (it will not operate on an Apple Macintosh under OS X). Adobe Shockwave is available as a free download.
