Voices and Visions from Japan CD-ROM

Read a short story set in 1945 Hiroshima, explore the work of well-known writer Yoshimoto Banana, access Noh and Quiet theatre forms or compare popular advertisements. This CD-ROM contains extensive contextual information and teaching and learning activities for students in senior English classes. Users can search around theme: eg Identity, Manga, Sport and Courage, or search for materials which support a learning area. This special resource provides teachers with resources that would normally only be accessible to a Japanese audience and makes materials engaging and relevant to an Australian classroom.

Distribution: This CD-ROM was distributed to all Australian secondary schools in 2003.

Technical note: The CD-ROM will operate using the Adobe Shockwave application on a PC (it will not operate on an Apple Macintosh under OS X). Adobe Shockwave is available as a free download. You will need administrator rights to install Adobe Shockwave on your computer. When Adobe Shockwave is installed the CD-ROM will open in the application when the CD is loaded.
