Activity 3: The Plan
Objectives
- To assist participants in using the National Statement for Engaging Young Australians with Asia in Australian Schools (National Statement) and the Asia Scope and Sequence for English (ASSE) resource to plan for change.
- To enable participants to consider strategies for and the implications of change.
- To provide participants with opportunities to consider how implementing change can assist them in meeting state or territory and national curriculum goals.
Presenter guidelines
This activity provides a range of materials in the form of stimulus questions and proformas to support educators in using the National Statement and the ASSE resource to plan for change in their systems, organisations, schools and classrooms. It is important to note that many of these resources will need to be adapted to meet local needs and are presented here as exemplars.
If this activity is delivered as a discrete workshop, participants will need a thorough knowledge of the ASSE and the National Statement prior to undertaking the workshop, as it builds on the familiarity with the overall goals and structure of these documents achieved in Activities 1 and 2.
