This professional learning program introduces teachers to the Asia Scope and Sequence for English, the accompanying units of work developed for English classrooms and the National Statement. It explores the rationale for a focus on Asia as well as providing time for discussion about useful resources and pedagogies.

Presenter expertise
Presenters should be thoroughly familiar with the National Statement and the Asia Scope and Sequence for English (ASSE) resource, including the units of work. They should also be familiar with Access Asia resources relevant to English and have a sound knowledge of national and state or territory curriculum documents.
Resources required
Participants will need access to copies of the National Statement and the ASSE resource, as well as access to relevant national, State/Territory, school and faculty curriculum documents. Listed below are the resources and materials that presenters will need to deliver each activity.
