We've been flying over the Yellow Sea and now it's time for our plane to land at our first destination. If we look out of the window we'll see Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea. Do you know how many people live here? Have a guess.
Seoul is one of the largest cities in the world with a population of about 11,000,000. That's 11 million people who need somewhere to live, places to shop and work and, of course, enough schools for all the students. This explains why there are so many skyscrapers in Seoul.

We can see the T'aegukki, the special flag of the Republic of Korea, flying from many of the buildings in Seoul. But we're not going to see much of Seoul now as we have a bus to catch. We are on our way to the school at P'ohang and we'll be stopping at Kimch'on on the way. We will be back to see the sights in Seoul later.
