Introduction
The artworks displayed in this web gallery were created by
students from schools in Australia, China, Korea and India for
the My Place Asia Australia project.
This valuable resource can inspire students to learn about themselves
and the lives of their cross-cultural peers. Australian students
in Government, Catholic and Independent schools across urban,
rural, coastal and city locations in Victoria, New South Wales,
Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory participated
in this project.
The art gallery will stimulate students to develop their own
art making ideas and techniques and to analyse, interpret and
reflect upon the cultural context of the artworks.
The objectives of the My Place Asia Australia
project are to:
Promote and develop cross-cultural understanding
Celebrate and respect diversity
Develop understanding and combat racism and
the perpetuation of stereotypes
Develop environmental awareness
Elevate the voices of students
