Other mailing lists
Many other mailing lists exist and this section of the module allows you to find out a little about some of them. Be aware, however, that this can only be an introduction and there are many more which you might discover later.

Using a directory to find mailing lists
To look at a large number of mailing lists you can use a directory such as the discussion group listing available on EdNA Online.
EdNA attempts to list most of the active discussion groups related to education in Australia and so is a good place to start when trying to locate a mailing list of interest to you. Here is a listing of discussion groups aimed at school teachers (http://www.edna.edu.au/go/browse/0:schooled:leadership:eliststchr?Searchmode=Advancemode#resulttab).
For a very large, and more general, listing, try the Tile.net directory (http://www.tile.net/lists/).

Oz-TeacherNet
Some discussion groups which will be of interest to Australian teachers are run by oz-TeacherNet.

Task 5 - Oz-teachers and oz-webquests
A general discussion group is oz-teachers. Visit its archives (http://lists.rite.ed.qut.edu.au/pipermail/oz-teachers/)
and scan recent postings. (Start by clicking on 'Thread' or 'Subjects'.) If
you would like to subscribe, you can do so on the main
oz-teachers page (http://lists.rite.ed.qut.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/oz-teachers).
Oz-TeacherNet also has a discussion group dealing with Australian WebQuests (WebQuests were discussed in Module 3). Check to see what is being discussed (http://lists.rite.ed.qut.edu.au/pipermail/oz-webquests/).
Suggest reasons for the extent of activity in each of the two discussion groups.
