The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in partnership with Asia Education Foundation is pleased to host the Australia-ASEAN Youth Forum in Geelong, Victoria.

The Australia-ASEAN Youth Forum is a full-day interactive simulation designed to deepen students’ understanding of the Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Australia’s place in the world.

This Australia-ASEAN Youth Forum will bring students together to discuss regional trade in agricultural goods and services.  Students will explore this issue from the perspectives of Australia and the 10 ASEAN Member States, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.  In particular, student will consider how their allocated country is contributing to and impacted by regional trade in agriculture through the lenses of Infrastructure Development; Primary Industries Trade; and Goods & Services Industries Trade, as well as put forward shared strategies for regional collaboration on these matters.

Learning Outcomes


As a result of their participation students:
  • deepen their knowledge and understanding of the countries of Southeast Asia and Australia’s relationship with the region;
  • realise the benefits and challenges of regional dialogue, intergovernmental cooperation and conflict resolution;
  • deepen their understanding of regional issues; and
  • develop their general capabilities, including their intercultural understanding, personal and social capability, and creative and critical thinking skills.

Refund policy: 
If the school team is unable to attend their scheduled Go Global program please notify us as soon as possible in writing. Cancellation more than 30 days before the session start date – no charge. Cancellation less than 15 days before the session start date – a fee of $650 is charged to cover costs. However, If the withdrawing team is able to provide a replacement team from a different school, then no fee applies.
