With sixteen years of experience in the promotion and education of sake and Japanese beverages, Andre Bishop is one of the true pioneers of sake in Australia. He is a well-respected authority and spokes person who shares his passion for sake with others. Andre is also a successful restaurateur, owning the multiple award winning restaurant Kumo Izakaya as well as Izakaya Chuji and Nihonshu Sake Bar. In 2013 he was awarded the title of Sake Samurai by the Japanese beverage industry conferring the position of an Official Ambassador of Sake. He has appeared on Japanese TV numerous times as a result of his passion for Japan and has been invited to present at many official Japanese government functions to further the promotion of sake and appreciation of Japanese culture. Through his work he hopes to encourage more Australians to discover the joys of sake, Japanese food, and Japanese culture in general.
