bio

After completing a degree in Asian studies and then working in banking and government, Tony undertook an exchange program to Thailand which reignited his interest in working in Asia. Tony has held many different positions throughout Asia including Education Consultant in Bangkok, Diplomat at Australia Embassies in Bangkok and Jakarta, General Manager (South East Asia) for the University of New South Wales based in Jakarta and as a Trade Commissioner in Jakarta. In 2012-13, Tony was seconded to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and worked on the development and implementation of the Australia in the Asian Century White Paper. More recently, Tony has worked as the General Manager International for a large national training provider with responsibility for business development and the establishment of transnational education opportunities in Asia. Tony currently is a Director of a consulting business that assists Australian companies to export, training providers to establish transnational education campuses and prepare staff for overseas placements. Tony has undertaken post-graduate studies at an Indonesian university, served as a member of the advisory board of the South East Asian Journal of Education, has taught at several universities in Asia and Australia and is the Chair of the ACT Branch of the Australia Indonesia Business Council and a member of its national executive.
