Alexis recently moved back to Shanghai to teach primary students at Fundan International School. She was previously the Committee Secretary for Gold Coast Chinese Club where she sought to encourage greater engagement between the local Chinese community and the wider community in the Gold Coast. She is keen to help schools access opportunities to connect with Asia through her links with Asian community groups, businesses and university and government departments. Alexis studied Mandarin at the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade and from 2009 to 2011 completed a Griffith University Bachelor of Asian and International Studies externally while living and working in Shanghai at the Shanghai Nanking Translation Company and as a kindergarten teacher.
