bio

Maighdlin is completing an Honours year at the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific writing on Indonesia-Timor-Leste relations. She was previously the ACT Chapter President of the Australia-Indonesia Youth Association, the peak non-government, youth-led organisation which aims to better connect young Indonesians and Australians. She holds a Bachelor of International Relations/Asia-Pacific Studies (Indonesian) from the ANU. In 2015, she spent a semester studying International Relations at Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung with the Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS). She has completed internships at the John Fawcett Foundation/Yayasan Kemanusiaan Indonesia, a humanitarian foundation based in Bali, and at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta in the Poverty and Social Development section. Maighdlin is also the Media & Communications Coordinator for the National Australia Indonesia Language Awards (NAILA), a speech competition that aims to reward and foster the development of Indonesian language leaning across Australia.
