bio

Max has a B.A. (Hons) in Asian Studies and a PhD in Anthropology (La Trobe University). He is a social-cultural anthropologist interested in diverse musical forms and development issues in Indonesia and the wider world. In 2009-10 he worked in Jakarta at the International Center for Islam and Pluralism. Max is currently Academic Coordinator for Indonesia at Monash University and is also engaged as a Social Scientist in a major bilateral energy project with the Australia-Indonesia Centre.
