Global Conversations Initiative

Menu

In 2019, the Asia Education Foundation is proud to partner with the Sydney Opera House to deliver the Global Conversations Initiative.

Taking its inspiration from the land on which the Sydney Opera House stands, which was known to its traditional custodians, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, as Tubowgule, meaning “where knowledge waters meet”. As one of the indisputable masterpieces of human creativity, it has long been a place for learning and sharing knowledge.  Sydney Opera House continues the tradition of where the knowledge waters meet by presenting intercultural live and digital learning experiences inspired by the world’s great artists to Australian and Asian students.

Global Conversations is designed to support 21st Century learners to better understand the region they live in. The program places cultural as the learning experience to explore intercultural understanding, Asian literacy, critical and creative thinking, global perspectives, ethical understanding and other creative arts curriculum outcomes.

Asian and Australian students will participate in two digital live and interactive learning experiences. Stage One culminates in a live-streamed performance.  Stage Two reconnects Asian and Australian sister schools in a 45 minute interactive workshop unpacking the themes of the performance.

In 2019, the highly respected Novueau Cirque du Vietnam will perform the internationally acclaimed À Ố Làng Phố in the Joan Sutherland Theatre at Sydney Opera House.

This performance will be live-streamed to select BRIDGE schools across Australia and Asia.
