China: STEAM Education Study Program

Modern innovative education is defined by bringing together different disciplines into new knowledge and experiences of learning. STEAM requires a fusion of understanding and application of various fields, and the process of design thinking merges critical and creative thinking amongst other problem-solving techniques.

The China STEAM Education Study Program explores how world-class education in China is adapting and tackling these approaches through exposure to leading STEAM educators, immersive intercultural learning experiences and collaborative knowledge-building workshops.

Participating in this in-country professional learning program for leaders in education will enable you to observe STEAM teaching in Chinese classrooms and have face-to-face discussion with school leaders on the curriculum, pedagogy and teaching practice in this specialist area.  The program is designed to be immersive and collaborative allowing for critical dialogue and reflection whilst providing first-hand experiences of Chinese-Australian relations.

Spend time in three key locations visiting Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing.  These regions are all known for their leading results in the recent PISA testing and offer unique educational and cultural experiences.  A highlight will involve attending The Principal Forum which will enable you to compare and share your leaderships experience with the Chinese education system.

Program Objectives:
  • Share and build on approaches to interdisciplinary learning contexts within STEAM
