Images of Asia: Symbols, Patterns and Designs

The diversity of the arts throughout Asia is conveyed in both traditional and contemporary visual representations – from spirit posts in South Korean villages and the ancient symbolism of the Japanese kimono, to Manga comics and Bollywood posters.

Each card features a richly detailed map and photographs. The cards encourage shared investigation among small groups, and are designed to stimulate higher order thinking and discussion.

A teacher guide contains commentary on the photographs, student learning activities for each set, and blackline masters.

Alignment to the Australian Curriculum is provided for resource activities.
