Images of Asia: Beliefs

The rainbow colours of a lantern festival in Seoul, the thrill of a Chinese dragon dance and the traditional rituals of a Toraja hanging cave in Indonesia illustrate the diversity of religion throughout the countries of Asia. Places of worship, festivals, ceremonies, celebrations and sites of special significance are depicted in this teacher guide and these eight cards. The curriculum focus is SOSE, but the cards are also relevant to The Arts and Personal Development, especially in discussions of values.

The cards encourage shared investigation among small groups, and are designed to stimulate higher order thinking and discussion.

The teacher guide contains commentary on the photographs, student learning activities for each set, and blackline masters.

Alignment to the Australian Curriculum is provided for resource activities.
