Thailand - Caring for the Earth
Students investigate some of the environmental problems of Thailand and the ways in which local communities and governments are responding to conserve their environment. They then design a website to report on their research, incorporating features of effective website design.
Investigating Thailand's Environmental Problems
The World Wide Fund For Nature states that the range of environmental problems in Thailand includes deforestation, soil erosion, wildlife trade, and air and water pollution. Make your own search focused on 'Thailand's environmental challenges'. Create a mind map which shows the topics or subtopics which you would like to include in this list?
- Select one topic from your list, such as coastal mangroves, Bangkok traffic congestion or elephants in Thailand, and look at how this specific problem is being addressed.
- Find and describe an environmental community organisation that is working for change.
Research Record
Draw a table like the one below in your workbook and record the results of your searches and any good website features you encounter.
