Voices and Visions from China CD-ROM

Read a short story set during the Cultural Revolution, explore the edgy world of performance art in Shanghai, view film clips from Fifth Generation film maker Zhang Yimou, access art work and resources from popular culture from China. This award-winning CD-ROM contains extensive contextual information and teaching and learning activities for students in senior English classes. Users can search around theme: eg Environment, Gender Roles, Romance or Youth Culture, or search for materials which support a learning area. This special resource provides teachers with resources that would normally only be accessible to a Chinese audience and makes materials engaging and relevant to an Australian audience.

Distribution: This CD-ROM was distributed to all Australian secondary schools in 2001.

Technical note:  This CD-ROM will operate using the Adobe Shockwave application on a PC (it will not operate on an Apple Macintosh under OS X). Adobe Shockwave is available as a free download. You will need administrator rights to install Adobe Shockwave on your computer. When Adobe Shockwave is installed the CD-ROM will open in the application when the CD is loaded.
