Voices and Visions from India CD-ROM

Read a short story by Asia’s first Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, contrast film-making genres with clips from Bollywood as well as Indian art-house films, view contemporary advertisements, access art work and resources from popular culture from India. This CD-ROM contains extensive contextual information and teaching and learning activities for students in senior English classes. Users can search around theme: eg Family, Caste, Love or Politics, or search for materials which support a learning area. This special resource provides teachers with resources that would normally only be accessible to an Indian audience and makes materials engaging and relevant to an Australian classroom.

Distribution: This CD-ROM was distributed to all Australian secondary schools in 2004.

Technical note:  The CD-ROM will operate using the Adobe Shockwave application on a PC (it will not operate on an Apple Macintosh under OS X). Adobe Shockwave is available as a free download. You will need administrator rights to install Adobe Shockwave on your computer. When Adobe Shockwave is installed the CD-ROM will open in the application when the CD is loaded.
