Students will have the opportunity to identify, analyse and evaluate how Christianity, its beliefs and symbolism, has been integrated into Eastern cultures over many centuries of colonisation and that artists draw from these blended beliefs to interpret their struggles for freedom and peace.
Students could research and analyse the murals of Diego Rivera to understand how his ideas influenced art in the Phillippines, and examine how Nune Alvarado uses the symbols of Christianity to represent the struggles of ordinary people.
