English toolkit

The content of the Australian Curriculum: English is organised into three interrelated strands: Language, Literature and Literacy.

Language strand focuses on knowing about the English language.
Literature strand focuses on understanding, appreciating, responding to, analysing, and creating literature. This strand is easily accessible for teachers to include Asia opportunities.
Literacy strand develops students' ability to interpret and create texts.

The texts are presented in lists that relate to the content descriptions of the Australian Curriculum for English at each year.
Each list from Foundation to Year 2 can be sorted by author, title or setting and in addition by text type for Years 3–10.
Each text is accompanied by a description to assist teachers in text selection.
