Sam Hammington started studying Korean at university in Australia in 1997, and spent a year as an exchange student at Korea University in 1998 before resettling here in 2002. After spending two years as the first foreign comedian on Gag Concert, he has developed himself as a regular in the Korean entertainment industry. The Australian Ambassador to Korea once suggested that Sam is the most famous Australian in Korea. Sam is also involved in business in South Korea, through hospitality businesses and as part of a an education agency.
