Indonesia BRIDGE Principal Workshop 2015

On 25 May, 2015, 83 principals and provincial heads of education from across Indonesia attended a workshop in Jakarta as part of the Australia–Indonesia BRIDGE Project. The leaders joined forces to share best practice and map out strategies to strengthen their school partnerships through building teacher capacity and enhancing student learning outcomes.

Sustainability of school partnerships and building teacher capacity were central themes of the workshop. Principals and provincial heads of education worked together to develop regional strategies and action plans to achieve these goals.

The workshop was one example of how the Australia–Indonesia BRIDGE Project supports schools to engage over the long term in global collaborations and local and regional communities of practice. Representatives from provincial education jurisdictions also participated in the workshop, providing further support and guidance to principals and leading regional planning groups.

It has been great to see what other schools and regions are doing to sustain their school partnerships. This has renewed my enthusiasm and aspirations for our BRIDGE school partnership.
