Student activities are provided to achieve the following outcomes:

Students will:

  • reach a deeper understanding of what is conveyed in texts in different genres and cultural contexts through reflection, discussion and reporting to others
  • reflect upon, develop their own material and interpret dramatically from texts viewed and read.

Writing

Students will

  • choose appropriate genre
  • reflect upon and respond to stimulus texts to express interpretations and familiar experiences to a familiar audience.

Investigation, Exploration

Students will:

  • read and discuss genres of texts
  • develop skills in the collection and orderly storage of information, and appropriate presentation of material Arrow
  • consider the contexts in which texts were created and how these are reflected in the texts.

Visual

Students will:

  • be encouraged to understand, appreciate, interpret and discuss visual material in different cultural contexts.
