The Asia Education Foundation (AEF) is a joint activity of Asialink at the University of Melbourne and Education Services Australia Ltd. The AEF advocates for and supports Asia literacy in Australian schools.

In October 2009, all Australian governments agreed to a goal: That at least 12% of students completing Year 12 be fluent in one the languages of our key Asian neighbours - China, Indonesia, Japan and Korea - by 2020.

However, we are way off target. On our latest web forum, we ask what would help your school provide a robust language program.

Leaders program: Educators wanted

leaders programThe Asialink Leaders Program for 2011 is now open. It is producing a regional network of emerging leaders from the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors with the skills to exercise vision in a challenging regional and global context. Leaders in education are encouraged to apply. The program runs concurrently in Sydney and Melbourne.
