bio

Elena currently works in Yogyakarta as the Resident Director for the Australian Consortium for 'In-Country' Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) and was formally employed by UN Women Australia in Jakarta. Prior to this she graduated with distinction in her Master of Gender and Development Studies from The Australian National University, Canberra. Elena has spent numerous years living and working in Indonesia, previously with Oxfam Australia's Labour Rights team and also as the Program Manager for ACICIS, in Yogyakarta. She has been a participant in the Australian-Indonesian Youth Exchange Program and has volunteered as an interpreter and facilitator at The Ubud Readers’ and Writers’ Festival.
