bio

Jane is an economist and Associate Director of the Australian Centre on China in the World, ANU. After studying Economics and Japanese at the ANU, she joined the Asia Section of the Australian Commonwealth Treasury, and then did postgraduate study on the Chinese economy at the University of Oxford. Her research interests include China's rising gender imbalances; demographic change and economic growth; and rural-urban inequalities in education.
