bio

Melanie completed a Master Degree in Asian Studies (Indonesian) at the University of Sydney. She then worked for the International Development Program in Canberra before moving to Indonesia. Whilst in Indonesia she worked as a reporter and editor at the Jakarta Post, and then for a number of international news organisations, including the BBC and Reuters. Melanie worked on SBS TV's Dateline program and as a producer on the critically acclaimed "Go Back to Where You Came From" series. Before joing the Public Education Foundation, she worked at the Sydney University South East Asia Centre on an Australia Indonesia Centre program.
