Indonesian Language Learning Ambassadors

by User Not Found | Dec 05, 2017

Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) in partnership with Asia Education Foundation (AEF) recently facilitated the Indonesian Language Learning Ambassadors program (ILLA).

ILLA connected participating schools with AAI awardees currently studying education based subjects in universities across Australia.

Here are some reflections from our recent participants.

Maria Michieli - Teacher from Catholic Regional College North Keilor in Victoria

ILLA is a great language program! The ILLA Ambassador for my school, Astri, and I worked very well together and she has been instrumental in helping me achieve so much in re-writing and updating the school courses and resources. I would very much be interested and keen to continue this program for a longer term.

Jessica Lundie - Teacher from Ringwood Secondary College in Victoria

My Year 10 students have all grown in confidence thanks to ILLA and the Ambassador’s contributions to our classroom!

Aisy Dyah Rinjanita - Student from the University of Melbourne

It was my first time having the experiences of teaching and interacting with a school, so it was an honour for me to be able to participate in the ILLA Program. My partner from Lilydale West Primary School helped a lot in designing the activities and the children were very active and keen to participate during my teaching sessions by asking a lot of questions about Indonesia.

Claire - Lilydale West Primary School

Great to have Aisy here today as the Year 5 had to write some complex clues for a game we are making. She was fantastic helping the students with their sentences and correcting mistakes! Would love for Aisy to visit again!

Applications for the next cohort will open in 2018. If you have any questions, please email aef-support@asialink.unimelb.edu.au or call + 61 3 8344 4800 to speak with a member of our team.
