The Queensland Department of Education International is committed to providing inclusive, equitable, and exceptional education programs for Queensland state school students and is thrilled to offer this exciting new opportunity to Queensland students. The Asia Education Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Education International, is delivering the Queensland Future School Leaders program to students in Year 5 and 6 across Queensland and the Asia-Pacific. The 2024 Queensland Future Leaders Program will inspire Queensland young leaders to navigate and respond positively to the rapidly changing and diverse world we live in. The summit aims to provide students with opportunities to explore different elements of global competence and enhance students' essential, analytical, and creative thinking skills, leadership skills, intercultural understanding, self-awareness, and cultural understanding to facilitate meaningful global connections. Students participating in the program will explore the concept of 'thinking globally, acting locally' and will work on developing various initiatives to promote inclusivity and equity within their local school communities. This comprehensive program will equip students with valuable insights and skills to become effective and empathetic leaders in their schools and beyond. The workshops will feature guest speakers, collaborative learning activities, and multiple breakout sessions for students to meet and discuss topics with peers from different schools across Queensland and the Asia-Pacific. The program aligns with the Department of Education Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027 by offering Queensland students and teachers an opportunity to build on their global competence through an online program and assist the development of future-ready global citizens.
Enhance personal leadership skills (critical and creative thinking, collaboration, and empathy).
