bio

Danny has spent five years living in Indonesia. He has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Indonesian and Islamic Studies and spent three semesters studying in Indonesia. During this time, Danny wrote a thesis on the social impacts of tourism in remote communities. His writing on Indonesian culture has appeared in The Jakarta Post, writings on Indonesian-Australian relations in local Tasmanian press and articles about Indonesian surf tourism in Tracks and Surfing World. Currently, Danny acts as a freelance translator for the not-for-profit sector in Indonesia, largely with sustainable tourism projects running volunteer tourism programs. Danny is the founder and president of the Australia Indonesia Youth Association, Tasmania Branch.
