bio

Alice is an Asia Pacific Studies/Laws student at the ANU. She spent the 2011-12 academic year living and studying in Beijing, and travelled through Xinjiang, Sichuan, Yunnan and Heilongjiang provinces. She was awarded a Hawker Scholarship for 2013. During her time at Peking University, Alice set up an online journal (farandwide.org) collating ideas by other Sino-savvy students. More recently, she has added language proficiency in Burmese to her repertoir and has undertaken research on overland trade interactions and people trafficking in Southeast Asia from both historical and current vantage points.
