Amanda's interest in the Asia Pacific and Australian-Asia relations began in earnest in 1985 when she lived in Japan for a year as an AFS Exchange Student. After completing a Bachelor of Economics, Graduate Diploma and Master of Arts in Asian Studies at Monash University, Amanda worked as a lecturer in Japanese Language and Studies. Amanda’s linguistic skills, cross cultural awareness and association with Asia has led her to many opportunities to work in a range of sectors and in different countries.
