Deborah Steele heads the ABC’s Asia Pacific News Centre (APNC), based in Melbourne, and is vice chair of the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union's Program Committee. The APNC produces international news from an Asia Pacific perspective. The 24/7 multiplatform unit produces television, radio and digital content for audiences in Australia and across Asia and the Pacific including The World for ABC News 24, Pacific Beat, #TalkAboutIt, ABC news for Radio Australia and the world page for abc.net.au/news. Deborah also develops news exchange agreements with media outlets in the Asia Pacific region. Deborah worked as a journalist for more than 20 years and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from RMIT and a Grad. Dip in Media, Communications and Information Technology Law from the University of Melbourne.
