Malcolm is a development consultant with expertise on post-conflict and stabilisation issues in the Indo-Pacific. His current portfolio includes work on community engagement programs and projects to reduce the impact of violent extremism in several counties in Southeast Asia. This follows a career with the Australian Government as a solider and diplomat, where over more than two decades Malcolm served across the region. He has been posted to the Afghanistan on two occasions and has also served in the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. His academic expertise includes postgraduate study at the Australian National University, and work as a Research Fellow at the Australian Army Land Warfare Studies Center and the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Singapore.
