Marlborough Primary School (PS) champions collaborative projects with its Indonesia BRIDGE school partner, MIN Cempaka Putih in Indonesia. Following highly destructive mud eruptions in Surabaya, Marlborough PS and MIN Cempaka Putih joined forces to raise a combined total of $1,400 in the 2012 Sidoarjo Fundraising Appeal. This was then used to buy books and resources for a makeshift school and seeds to plant new crops.
In 2013, during Marlborough Primary's second visit to Indonesia, a series of photographs were taken of two students participating in classes and after-school activities. Two students in Australia were also photographed carrying out daily activities. The four students then met over Skype and helped to produce a book in English and Indonesian.
The schools continue to collaborate and are planning to make a CD compilation of Indonesian Angklung music, with songs performed in Australia and Indonesia, as well as simultaneously over Skype.
